No. 2

I have been training at Daihonzan Chozen-ji since September of 2021. As one can imagine, the training has been transformative. These days my training involves going there every Monday evening for Zazen, Sanzen, and Shakuhachi. And for twice a year, I attend Sesshin (接心). So for #2, I decided to pick 5 sounds that remind me of Zazen, of silence, of sounds that sound like silence, and of sounds that sound more like silence than silence itself. The film is shot at Chozen-ji’s Budo Dojo: the space we train. The vantage point is exactly what I see during my sits. This film is a reflection of my experience. (bigger screen is recommended)

Materials: cinnamon stick, singing bowl and mallet, PVC pipe shakuhachi, carbon fiber Shakuhachi, wooden crate.
